Lillie Ruth Dixson Isom Curd

gained her heavenly wings, February 19, 2023 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Lillie was the third child born to Julian Sr. and Mary Ella Dixson, on July 3, 1938


Lillie was a fun and loving woman that devoted her life to her family. She held numerous jobs that included working at Lakeshore Shore Mental Hospital, Alpha Industries, and a CAC caregiver just to name a few. She also held several positions in the church, New Friendship Baptist Church. She was a senior usher, worked in women’s ministry, a fantastic senior coordinator, involved with women’s Sunday school class, as well as a member of the senior choir. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed family vacations, because these were always a special time for family to enjoy each other. Lillie was a special woman that left a special mark on everyone that she came in contact with. She will be forever held dearly in our hearts.


Lillie is preceded in death by parents, Julian Sr. and Mary Ella Dixson, daughter, Veronica “Dale” Glover, grandsons; Johnathan White and Stanley Alonzo Isom III, grandmother, Lillie Mae Fortson, brothers; Robert Dixson Sr. and Julian Dixson Jr., sisters-in-law; Betty Dixson, Doris Dixson, and Patricia Curd, brother-in-law, Jesse Rogers, Martin White and William Reid, step son, Michael Curd, and Step granddaughter, Rochelle Lyons


Left to cherish her memories, devoted husband, Raymond Curd, daughter, Theresa White, sons; Kelvin Isom Sr. and Stanley Isom Jr., son-in-law, Walter Glover, step daughters, Francesca Curd and Donna (George) Bradford. 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, siblings, Willian Dixson, Mary K. Thomas, Julia A. Rogers, Helen Winton, and Almazine (James) Williams, brothers-in-law, Walter Curd, Lewis (Nitta) Curd, aunt, Ella M. Fortson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends to include Beverly Ward and the Austin High class of 1956


Family will receive friends, Sunday March 5, 2023 from 2:30 to 3:30 at New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1933 Texas Ave, Knoxville, TN 37921. With funeral services to follow. Rev Joseph Smith officiating. Interment will be held, Monday, March 6, 2023 at 12:30 at East Tennessee State Veteran Cemetery, 2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920
