Peggy Ann Myers to know her was to love her and she was loved by many. She received her heavenly wings on March 11, 2026 surrounded by family and friends.
She was born on January 20, 1948 in Knoxville, TN at Old Knoxville General Hospital. One of two born to Mamie Myers and the only one born to Clarence Gadson. She spent most of early childhood on Webster Street (off Western avenue). At that time being raised by her grandmother Ethel Harmon. She attended Carsler Elementary, Beardsley Jr., and Austin High School's Class of 1967. As a child and adult, she lived in College Homes.
Peggy gave her life to Christ early in her adult life at Clifton Chapel AME Zion Church. She served as Missionary and choir member. She was also "Leader of Leaders" Class leader. She loved her church family.
She was also active with several other organizations, Dow Chemical Comm. Advisory Board, Brown Sugar, West Area Resident Advisory Board and Mechanicsville Community Associate, just to name a few.
She was employed at K-25 Oak Ridge, Food City and CAC for 50 years until her retirement. She remained active with the MCA organization as treasurer. Peggy loved helping people anyway she could.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mamie Myers, father Clarance Gadson, grandmother Ethel Harmon, grandmother Verlie Myers, grand children, Josh Myers, Brittany Harrod, Son Eric Myers, Aunt Adderi Harden and Cousin Ricardo Harden.
She leaves to cherish her son; Aron L. Myers (Wendy), sister; Wanda Evans. Two Nieces; LaRhonda, Marisa, One Newphew; Shawn (Audrey), Two great nephews, 10 grands, 11 great-grands, God Sisters; Curtis Lee Thomas, Florence Fenderson of Knoxville, Long time partner, Michael McBride of Washington D.C. Extended family and friends; Reece Family (Knoxville), Johnson Family(Kentucky), Liggins family (Chicago), Harris family (Knoxville), Upshaw family (Nashville). United class of 67'.
The family would also like to thank the friends and staff at Clinch River Home Health, with a special thanks to Shafan Vonner.
The family will receive friends from 2:30pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church located at 546 College St, Knoxville, TN 37921 with a service to immediately follow.
