Mary Bolden-Garner

Mary Elizabeth Bolden Garner was born September 5, 1936 to John William Bolden and Anna M. Chandler Bolden.

Preceded in death by grandparents Horace and Hattie Chandler of Virginia, and Litton and Frances J. Bolden of Knoxville; aunts Lucy Graham and Laura Kelly of Muncie, IN, Beulah Campbell, Hanah Kennedy, and Mary Estrans of Dandridge, TN; uncles, Samuel Saffell, Tommy Saffell, Samuel F. Bolden, and James Bolden; aunts, Josephine Brown Detroit Mi, Margaret Tucker Peck, Knoxville, Iva Chandler Manghame, Oakland, CA; Life long friend Reba M. Drew; sisters Hattie (Leonard) Barril, Beulah L. (Sam) Gray, of Knoxville, and Johnnie M. (Randolph) Brown.

Survivors to include: 2 devoted nieces, Linda M. Cotner Brown and Brenda Sherfield, Shirley Brown, Jacqueline Mitchell, Dorothy L. Claiborne; nephews: Gary Brown, Phillip Brown, Glenn Brown, Larry Boldern, and Jack Bolden; dear friend Theodore (Brenda) Chandler, Sr., Leo (Judy) Whiteside, Georgia Green, Anandale, VA, Norman “Son” Smith Knoxville; and devoted great niece Teresa David.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Jarnigan & Son Chapel, located at 2823 Martin Luther King Jr Ave, Knoxville, TN 37914 with a service to immediately follow.
