Johnny McHenry

Johnny McHenry was born February 14, 1968 to James and Minnie Cannon McHenry, passed away on March 13, 2026. Johnny graduated from Rule High School, and attended Knoxville College where he became a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity. He was giving, caring, never met a stranger, had a good sense of humor, and always grateful.

Preceded in death by: mother, Minnie Cannon McHenry; aunts, Carrie Wright and Sallie Moultry; uncles, Brooks Cannon, Samuel Cannon, and James Cannon.

He leaves to cherish his memory: children, Angelica (Deion) Clay, Emmanuel McHenry, Johnny McHenry Jr.; sister, Rosetta (Reginald) McHenry Linder; brother, Homer McHenry, uncle Willie Earl Cannon; aunt, Georgia Cannon; niece, Keondria McHenry; nephew, DeMichael McHenry; best friends that are like brothers, Michael Pittman and Michael Newton; and a host of family and friends too numerous to name.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 5:30pm to 6:00pm at Jarnigan & Son Chapel, located at 2823 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37914 with a service to immediately follow.
