Clara Robinson

Clara Robinson, age 85, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving daughter, granddaughter, sister and friends.  


Born on August 18, 1940, to Ruth Ann and Eddie Manuel in Stringtown, Mississippi. She And Her Sister Mary Manuel Attended Coleman High School in Greenville, Mississippi. After their mother’s death, their great and caring father, Eddie Manuel, took them to Greenville to his family home. He thought they would get a great education there in Greenville with his family. Clara and her sister Mary entered Coleman High School where they both joined the Glee Club. They Both Became Lovely Alto Singers for The Coleman High School Choir. The family back in Stringtown, Mississippi used to love having Clara and her sister Mary visit them in Stringtown on the weekends periodically so they could enjoy their lovely acapella voices. 


She married Candosey Robinson after high school. They had 3 children: Gail, Candosey Jr, and James. Clara worked in the Medical Field helping other people. She started off as a Salad girl at General Hospital in Greenville, MS. She became a Certified Nurse Assistant(CNA) where she worked at Mary Thompson Hospital and Provident Hospital in Chicago. She later moved from Chicago to Tennessee where she assisted her sister Mary in her restaurant business  “Mary’s Hot Tamales”. She took over the business after her sister passed away. 


She is proceeded in death by her husband, Candosey, her son Candosey Jr, and her Sister, Mary Manuel. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory; her daughter, Gail Rolling(Jim), her son; James Robinson(Lynn), grand daughters; Marita Robinson(Emanuel) & Natasha Berry(Brandon) Great grandchildren, Tyvonne, Mikayla, Michael, Emiya, William & Jayden. Sisters and Brothers: Eddie Manuel Jr(Bernadine) West Lake, LA; Shirley Tenner, Natchez, 

MS; Eddye Green(Jerrold) Warner Robbins, GA; Patrick Manuel, Warner Robbins, GA; Joyce Manuel, Warner Robbins, GA; Gloria Marshall(Oscar), Knoxville, TN; Floyd Manuel(Debra), Porter, TX; Deloris Collins, Warner, GA; Rosa Wilson, Porter, TX , Step Mother: Juanita Wade, Warner Robbins, GA,  one Aunt Pearlie Fowler, Greenville, MS,and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 


“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” “{2 Timothy 4:7-8}. 


The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Friday, July 3. 2026 at Jarnigan & Son Chapel, located at 2823 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37914 with a service to immediately follow. 


Final arrangements entrusted to Jarnigan & Son Mortuary.
