Christopher Travis Beal, age 51 was born August 2, 1972 in Knoxville, Tennessee to his loving parents Brenda Beal and Glynn Dwight Ferguson. On May 9, 2024, God called Travis home to eternal rest.
Travis was a loving father, brother, grandaddy, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and son. He was known as “Fat Blood” or “Fat back” to all his family and friends from the South all the way to the West Coast. Travis had a charming and lovable personality. At a young age, he quickly learned how to light up the room with his contagious smile.
Travis was an outstanding basketball player. His talent helped his team to many championships. They called him “Air Trav” because he flew through the air like his favorite player, Michael Jordan. Travis was a diehard San Diego Charger fan.
Everybody knew Travis loved to eat and food was the way to his heart. He always found his way into someone’s kitchen to help himself to a plate.
He was truly an artist and enjoyed drawing. Travis found joy in dancing, rapping, and even singing. He strongly believed he was the sixth member of the R&B group, New Edition. He was confident with every move he made, on and off the dance floor.
Music brought him so much joy, making him the life of the party. He spent his weekends having family gatherings. Together, they would cook, watch games, play cards and dominoes, listen to music, and dance all night long.
Travis was a creative guy and he knew how to make something out of nothing. He even created his own lingo and made jokes that kept everyone laughing in tears. He knew that love was the only thing you get more of by giving it away, so that’s exactly what he did. He made sure his loved ones were protected.
He attended Spring Hill School. Later, he moved to San Diego and attended Crawford High School. Travis was a graduate of Mount Miguel High School class of 1990. At heart, he always felt like he was an Austin East Roadrunner.
