Bruce Beatty. Born on September 1, 1957 in Knoxville, TN. On Monday July 28,2026 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, Bruce was called home to eternal rest.
Preceded in death by: parents, Charles and Elizabeth Beatty; grandmother, Helen Beatty; brother, Edward Beatty; uncles David Beatty, and Arthur Lee McKinns.
Survived by: two sisters, Elizabeth (Alyce) Miller-Parris and Helen L. Banks; three nieces Gigi & Carla Parris, Nicole Banks-Long; nephew, Harry James Banks Jr.; great niece, India Nicole Banks; great nephew, LaMaris Banks; cousins, Wilma Stacy and Wendy Nicholson; devoted friends, Dorian Wade and family, Alberta Greene and family, Arlee Shultz, Llyod Bonner, Adrian Coleman, and David Wade, Alvin Nicholson, and Eddie Ledford, and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to name.
Bruce's spirit was filled with kindness, and a gentle giving heart. His passion was Art and Music. He was a talented artist who focused on Comic Illustration. With just a pen, ink and his boundless imagination, he would bring fierce hero characters and complex villains to life. His artwork was more than a hobby. It was a testament to his sharp wit, keen eye, and incredible ability to tell a compelling story through his comic drawings.Â
When he wasn't drawing, he was playing his bass guitar and keyboard, which he loved. In addition, he was member of a few bands where he played Jam sessions with his crew.
Bruce will be deeply missed by family and friends. He will forever be loved, and never forgotten.
Family will receive friends Saturday, August 8, 2026 4:30-5:00 at Jarnigan’s Chapel, 5:00 service to follow at Jarnigan’s Chapel 2823 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. Knoxville, TN 37914. Rev. Samuel Brown officiating.
Final arrangements entrusted to Jarnigan and Son Mortuary.
