Kevin Dewayne Smith Sr., age 51, of Knoxville, TN, was born on July 29, 1972, to Laretha Smith and Clifford Smith Sr. He was called to his Savior on November 5, 2023, in the comfort of his home. Kevin graduated from Austin East High in 1992. He was a loving husband, father, and son who cared deeply for those around him.
If you were ever having a bad day, you could guarantee him to put a smile on your face. Kevin was truly a free spirit, almost always joking and turning a serious situation into one you could laugh about later. He was the cook of the family, comedian, therapist, the all-around ride or die. If you were a stranger to Kevin, you wouldn't be by the time the night was over! The perfect day for him was being around his wife while his grandchildren ran around the house and front yard, playing a game of cards on the porch with friends while drinking a cold Coca-Cola!
He is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Smith Sr.; son, Kevin Dewayne Smith Jr.; brother, Eric Cutwright; grandchildren, Akeyleus Smith and Josiah Kirk; grandparents, Joseph and Vera Smith; and his aunt, SaKina Bryant.
Survivors:
He leaves behind his loving wife, Summer Smith; Mother, Laretha Smith; daughters, Tiffany (Joseph) Kirk and Jahdaiah Cody; sons, Devin (Sierra) Smith, Ke’Von Smith, Je’Von Smith, Jaylen Cody, and Jahlyjawon Cody. Also leaving behind his siblings, Kyandra Cutwright, Clifford Smith Jr., Demarcus Smith, Maurice Smith, and Rodney Thompson; and cousins, Tyrone Smith, Laron Logan and Ron Rooks.
Kevin enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Zyire’Asia Smith, Andrea Freeney, Lyric Horton, Zyus, Zae’Vin, Zahir, Zamoni and Zamar Smith, Jeremiah Moore Jr., Jah’Ron Cody, Lameir Cody and Chevon Ragland. Close friends; Jamesina Taylor, Shawn Hyson, Andrea (Marquis) Rogers and Wando Stacy. Devoted Uncle; Van McKnight. Other family and friends too numerous to name.
