Lundy, William Thomas, Sr. of Knoxville departed this life on May 17, 2024, at his residence with his family and friends at his bedside. William was a faithful member at Faith Covenant Christian Church where he served as Deacon, President of the Men’s Ministry, and in any other capacity where there was a need. He also served 43 years at Norfolk Southern Railway. He leaves to cherish his memories: children, William Jr. (LaTonya), Donald (Yvonne), Steven, Sherry, Todd, Chris (Tina), Umar, and Crystal; siblings, Johnny (Linda), Jackie, and Jesse; thirty-three grandchildren; and forty-one great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by wife, Otelia; son, Roderick; grandson Frank Justin; nephew Demarcus Bingham; brother, Robert, Jr.; mother Rosa; and father, Robert, Sr. Devoted friends: James Williamson, Jimmy Hunter, and Virginia Jackson. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 5:00-6:00 pm, Homegoing Services to follow, at Fern Street Missionary Baptist Church, 121 Fern Street in Knoxville, Reverend Donald Lundy, Officiating and Reverend A. D. Baxter, Eulogist. Interment will be Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 10:30 am at New Gray Cemetery.
