Vivian O'Neal

Vivian DuBose O’Neal, age 82, departed this life to be with the Lord on December 17, 2024. She was born to the late Bailor and Lela DuBose on January 31, 1942. She was married to George Henry O’Neal, Sr. for over 60 years, and they had five (5) children together.


Vivian lived her life according to the meaning of her name, lively and full of life. She was sound in her faith, and when obstacles and challenges presented themselves, she handled them with strength, courage, and grace. Vivian was a graduate from Austin High School and owned a daycare for many years, loving on other people’s children just as she did her own. She later attended Tennessee School of Beauty and obtained a Cosmetology degree.


Vivian is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Barbara McSwain, Norma McGhee, Marcine Morris, Bailor DuBose, Jr., Zelma Garner; and grandson, Terrae O’Neal.


She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, George O’Neal, Sr.; sons, George (Cory) O’Neal Jr., Wheatland, CA, Sanford O’Neal, Barry O’Neal, Darryl (Shaye) O’Neal, all of Knoxville, TN; and daughter, Dikesha (Garland) Henley, Murfreesboro, TN; and her affectionately named niece/daughter, Shari Hunter, Lake Los Angeles, CA.


Also left to cherish her memory are brothers, Leon DuBose, Las Vegas, NV, and Wilbert (Sharon) DuBose, Knoxville, TN; sisters, Rosemon Leonard, Knoxville, TN, and Elizabeth (Burbon) White, Chino Hills, CA; fifteen (15) grandchildren; eleven (11) great-grandchildren; and tons of devoted cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.


Family Visitation will convene Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at the Jarnigan & Son Chapel. Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00pm.


Internment at Sherwood Gardens Monday, December 23,2024 at 11:00am.


Final arrangements entrusted with Jarnigan & Son Mortuary.
