Stephen Maurice Thompson, age 56,

departed this life, Saturday, July 22, 2023. Born November 9, 1966, to Eddie Lee Jones and Norma Jean Walker; raised by his grandparents, Rev. Louis and Violet Thompson.

Stephen graduated from Fulton High School.

Employed for Knox County for many years. He loved football and was a true fan of the UT Vols and Dallas Cowboys. He loved his kids and family. A member of the Biblical House of God, under the leadership of the late Bishop Gary E. Wright.

Preceded in death by mother, Norma Jean Walker Ballinger; adopted parents, Louis (Violet) Thompson; grandparents, Isiah (Rosie Lee) Jones, Norman Walker; brother, Wayne Blakeney; uncle, Jackie E. Walker.

He leaves to cherish his memory, father, Eddie Jones, Sr; son; Justin Thompson, Nashville; daughters, Stephanie Thompson and Stekivia Harper, Knoxville; brothers, Eddie Jones, Jr., Donnie Jones, Randy Blakeney, Tyron and TyShawn Giles; sisters, Tamiko Downs, Marricka Brown; aunts, Eveline Walker, Rosalind Walker; uncle, Marshall Walker; five grandchildren and a devoted friend, Rosetta (Charlene) Hill, several devoted aunts, uncles and cousins, family and friends.

Family will receive friends, 5:30-6:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Jarnigan’s Church; funeral service, 6:00 p.m.
