Sharon Marie Peck, Aug 11, 1954 to Jan 22, 2026, after several extended illnesses and with her sisters by her side,  received her reward and went to live eternally with her Lord and Savior on January 22, 2026.

Sharon attended Knoxville City Schools, graduating in Fulton High School’s Class of 1972. Committed to furthering her education she earned a Bachelors degree from Knoxville College in 1977 and a Master’s degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Her employment with TVA as an Information Specialist spanned more than 35 years before she accepted an early retirement offer which allowed her to spend much desired time with her church and her family.

Though she had no biological children of her own she mothered many children at Maynard Elementary through Project Grad, Wilder Missionary Baptist Church and within her family.  She was affectionately known as Auntie Sharon to those children and to her brother’s and sister’s children and grandchildren.

During her years in skilled nursing facilities Sharon used her spiritual gift of exhortation to encourage fellow residents, employees and those that came to visit her. Those caring for her often shared how Sharon would encourage them daily with words, song,  wisdom and gifts. Even when not feeling well herself she made it a point to lift someone else up and to put a smile on their face.

Many will remember Sharon for her soul stirring vocals. Whether it was a Christian hymn or a popular Roberta Flack song when she sang you would feel it deep in your soul. She loved to sing and would spontaneously burst out in singing wherever she was.

Sharon was reunited in heaven with her parents Harrison and Nan Chesney Peck, husband Samuel Billings, sister Patricia Peck, brothers Harrison ‘Puti’ and Larry ‘Gramps’ Peck, and nephews Jamal Peck, Timothy ‘TJ’ Peck Jr. and Dennis ‘Jabbar’ Troutman Jr. Rejoicing in her healing and home-going are her sisters Vickie McClellan and Teresa Peck, brothers William (Thelma) Peck and Timothy (Marilyn) Peck. Her nephews William Peck Jr, Jeremy McClellan, Jamarcus (Jennifer) Billings, Harrison (Alexis) Peck, Moise Nicolas, Corey (Jotoya) Peck, Travis Harris, Mattison Randolph, and Justus Hayes will miss her earthly presence as will her nieces Nicole Peck, Erika Seay, Shetara (Richard) Weaver, Emma Hayes, Trennille McClellan, Sheronda Crain and Marie (Brandon) Wilkerson. Margaret Ballinger, her mother’s only living sibling, will feel her absence as well as will her many grand nieces and grand nephews.

I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day....2 Timothy 4:7-8

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 on Sunday February 1, 2026 at Wilder Missionary Baptist Church.
