Scottie Orlando Ponder 61, of Knoxville, TN born April 7, 1964 departed this life in the arms of his devoted wife and son on July 1, 2025.

Scottie Ponder was born to Florida Mae Ponder and Lonnie McCain in Mecklenburg, NC.

He left behind to cherish his memory, His wife Aisha Javon Hinton-Ponder, son Zechariah Ponder, Jeremiah Hinton (Step-Son) Juanita Webb (Step-Daughter) his brother Wendell Ponder and Orlando Ponder, daughters Tyiesha Cornelius, Iesha Cornlius, and son Jarvis Cornelius and a host of family and friends.

The Bible teaches us that a husband should love his wife like Christ loved the church and Scottie Ponder or better known as 'Stateman' did just that. His wife and children lacked nothing when it came to him and he made sure they had everything they needed. He didn't leave them with any 'I wish I could...should of's'. You made sure that our last memory wasn't counterfeit and stolen from the life of another. You made sure we knew that we came first in your life and that you would lay down your life a million times over so that your children and I may have one. You promised me that nothing would separate us but God and you kept that promise til the end. Take your rest as a good and faithful soldier knowing that you honor your God by honoring your wife. May God continue to be continuously cover your wife while you rest in the hands of God.

Final memorial is scheduled for Monday, July 14, 2025 @ 2:00pm at Jarnigan & Son Chapel, located at 2823 Martin Luther King Jr Ave, Knoxville, TN 37914.
