Romaria Thompson-Dean

Romaria Darlene Thompson-Dean, affectionately known as Darlene, formerly of Knoxville, TN, passed away June 3, 2025 in Valdosta, GA. She was a graduate of Holston High School. Darlene served over 20 years as a 911 operator in Valdosta, GA and retired in 2024. She is preceded in death by her father, Riley Thompson, and grandmother, Hattie Mae Stenson Murriel.

Darlene leaves to cherish her memory: mother- Mamie Stenson Thompson; children- Teico (Brandi) Dean, Timothy Dean, and Brandon (Melissa) Dean; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sisters- Lona Thompson (Bruh-law) and Mechelle Crowe; brother, Lamont (Vonetta) Johnson, 3 aunts, and a host other relatives and friends. 

Family will receive friends Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 1:30-2pm at Jarnigan & Son Mortuary, 2823 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue Knoxville, TN 37914, with a celebration of life service to follow. Announcement and memorial services entrusted to Jarnigan & Son Mortuary. www.jarniganasndson.com
