Pennye Yette


Pennye Vaulx Yette was the eldest daughter born to the late June Vaulx and Norbert Vaulx on July 10, 1960. Pennye transitioned peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on the morning of February 13, 2025. 


She was preceded in death by her parents June Vaulx and Norbert Vaulx.


Pennye Vaulx Yette and Gary Yette joined in matrimony July 10, 1987. They were married 33 years and from that union two children were born Morgan Yette and Grady Yette.


She graduated from Haywood High School in 1978. Pennye was a loving homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. Her greatest joy was celebrating her family and friends.  


Pennye loved taking care of her family and she absolutely adored her siblings. She was the most dedicated mother and loved her children wholeheartedly. She also cared for many other children.  Her superpower was caring for others.  She had the biggest heart and the sweetest soul.  She loved the Lord and studying her Bible daily. Her favorite phrase was “I gotta get my word in.” She had such a passion for cooking and she was the head chef at every family event. 


To cherish her memory, she leaves her sisters and brothers, Darrell Vaulx (Cathy) Bridgette Vaulx, Norma Vaulx, Steven Vaulx (Betty), and Tracy Vaulx (Cheryl); Aunts Nazarene Boyd, Marjorie Vaulx, Margaret Glover; nieces and nephews, Darrell Vaulx Jr., Tyler Vaulx, Jullian Vaulx, Olivia Vaulx, Nicholas Vaulx, Garrett Daniels, Noah Vaulx, Jaylin Vaulx; Special niece Ashlee Vaulx; Special great niece Kierra Vaulx; Special cousins Bonita Boyd, Lafieca Tisdale, and Kimberly Tisdale; in-laws The Yette Family; close friends of the family Chandra Truman and Jackie Woodruff; and a host of cousins other family and friends.


The memorial service will be held Sunday February 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Public viewing will be prior the memorial service in the Chapel of Jarnigan & Son Mortuary, 2823 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. Knoxville, TN 37914.
