Paul Carter, age 66, passed away surrounded by love at U.T. Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, family, and joy. He was born, April 21, 1959, in Knoxville, TN, in the community of Burlington. He was a proud graduate of Austin-East High School and later attended Middle Tennessee State University, where he continued to build the foundation that shaped his strong work ethic and love for athletics.
Paul was a hardworking and loyal employee who dedicated over 30 years to his career. He took pride in his work and believed in consistency, responsibility, and providing for his family.
A devoted family man, Paul valued time at home and cherished moments spent with loved ones. He was known for his warm heart, generous spirit, and steady presence that brought comfort to those around him.
Paul was preceded in death by his loving parents, Jerry and Eloise Carter.Â
He is survived by: His loving wife, Sparkle Carter. His adoring children Queshawna, Justin, Moneisha, Simone, DeAndre, and Brianna. Granddaughter Dream. His siblings Michael, Sherry, Karen, Bryant and Bruce. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.Â
Paul had a passion for sports and friendly competition. He enjoyed pool and bowling, often bringing laughter and excitement wherever he played. He also loved good food and never missed an opportunity to enjoy a great meal with family and friends.
Paul Carter will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared.
On Tuesday, January 27, 2026 the family will be receiving friends from 11-12p.m., with a service to immediately follow, located at Jarnigan & Son Mortuary (2823 Martin Luther King Jr Ave, Knoxville, TNÂ 37914).
Interment Sherwood Cemetery.
