Pamela Denise Harshaw


Anyone who came into contact with Pamela knew her bright smile would light up a room. She had an infectious laugh and a beautiful soul. Pam was always in the kitchen her favorite place preparing meals from scratch. Pam was a huge sports fan she loved UT Volunteers, Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys. She always wore her orange representing her team. Pamela loved her some Prince that’s why her favorite color was purple. Anywhere she went Pam would start a conversation with anybody and always quick to make a friend wherever she went. Pam always supported and loved her family. She loved to go fishing and camping with her husband Joe of 31 years, were always taking mile hikes in the mountains. Pamela constantly put others before herself and most all very adored by her grandkids who was their “Nana.” She will continue living through each of them.

Pamela Denise Littlejohn Harshaw, 58, of Knoxville, TN born, December 13, 1964 to Otis Jr. and Geraldine Littlejohn departed this life November 26, 2023. Pamela was born in Hartford, Connecticut the oldest of four siblings before relocating back to Knoxville as a baby with her parents. Pamela grew up in the church at a younger age. She was a graduate of Holston High School Class of 1982. Pamela went to earn her Associates degree in Secretarial from Knoxville College and attended Pellissippi Community College achieve higher education. Pamela worked for K25 plant in Oak Ridge for several years then on to University of Tennessee Law and Agricultural buildings as a secretary. In the summer of August 1987 Pamela welcomed her daughter Leslie Downs into the world. Being a single mother raising Leslie in 1991 Pamela met the love of her life her soulmate Joe Harshaw whom she later married. In November 1993 Pam and Joe welcomed their son AJ Harshaw into the world. With a family of four and two additional step children, DJ and Brittney, Pamela continued on to raise her children and provide for her family. Pamela continued working at University of Tennessee up until her death.


John 16-22 “ So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you”- a husband’s prayer.

Pamela is preceded in death by : Otis Littlejohn Jr., Will and Hattie Riddle, Hattie Mae Prysork, Etolia and Otis Littlejohn Sr., Dempsey Harshaw Jr., Margaret and Sharon Harshaw, Kimberly Riddle, uncles and special aunt Elizabeth Hill.


Pamela leaves to cherish: mother Geraldine Littlejohn, husband Joe Harshaw, mother in law: Marsha Prysork children: Leslie Downs, AJ( Lalita) Harshaw, DJ Harshaw, Brittney Melton; grandchildren, Lanijah, Camiyah and Cason Britt, Jourhighness Melton, Alaeyia, Ajaiya, Ayda, Sydney, London and unborn Little AJ Harshaw, sister: Stacy (Kenny) McCall, brothers: Otis(Goldie) Littlejohn III, Justin Littlejohn, Roderick(Motomi) Prysork; nieces, Brittany(Demond) Floyd, Chelsea Webster, Juliene Williams, Tywla(Greg) Coppege, Kaleaya Prysork, nephews: Demetrius (Tiffany) Webster, Otis Littlejohn IV, Jeremy Brown, Golden Littlejohn, Tarquin, Roderick and DeMarcus Prysork.


Loving friends: Marco Norries, Sylvia Turman, Shawania Griffin, Wanda Scott, Felecia Morelan and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, great aunts and great uncles, several “adopted” children other relatives and loved ones.
