Nathaniel Wimes

Nathaniel Wimes, was born, February 1, 1937 in Camilla, GA; the son of the late Anderson Wimes  and Girlish Mae Wimes, passed away, Friday, April 22, 2024 at his resident.  He lived in Knoxville, TN; Nathaniel was employed at Ideal Cement for forty years.  He retired and enjoyed the rest of his time hunting and spending more time with his family.

Preceded in death by, grandson, Jack Shealy; sisters, Willie B. Meadows, Corine Tolbert, Martha Foster and Virgina Wimes; brothers, Andrew Wimes, Herny B. Wimes, Columbus Wimes, Tommy Wimes and Joseph Wimes.

Survived by, wife, Betty Jean Wimes; devoted daughters, Joeann Wimes, Beverly Wimes, Gwendolyn Jackson ; sons, Edward Wimes, David Quimby, and Ronald Robs; brothers, Walter Wimes (Faye), Knoxville TN; Willie Charles (Dorothy) Wimes, Meigs, GA, devoted  brother, Willie (Marilyn) Blanton, Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Kimberly, Roderick,Calvin, Jr. David Quimby Jr. and  of Albany, GA, Michael and Eric, Knoxville, TN; great grandchildren, Cameron, DJ, Nyia and Cayson; a host of relatives and friends to include, a dear friend, Mr. Paul Burroughs.

Family will receive friends, 1:00-2:00p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Jarnigan’s Chapel; funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Rev. Steven Simpson, Officiating.

Interment, 11:00 a.m., Monday at Sherwood Memorial Park.
