Marva (Floyd) Softly of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2024, during her morning rest. A devoted member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, she was a beloved mother, grandmother to six, and great-grandmother to fifteen.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Syreeta Dickerson Vaughn (Clarence), Sevaughn Green (Leah Richardson), Krystal Dickerson, David Watson (Katherine), Christina Garner Cates (Isaiah), and Mil-Lindsey Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah (Cherry) and Ralph Floyd; her sister, Christine Floyd; and her daughter, Marquita Walton (Dickerson). She leaves behind many cherished cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, at Overcoming Believers Church, with the funeral service following at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Rev. Dr. Vivian Williams. Interment will be at Berry Highland South following the service.
