Mark Whiteside

Mark Anthony “Tony” Whiteside, age 68, of Knoxville, entered eternal life, December 24, 2025. He was born September 18, 1957, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Leo Willis and Dorothy Mae Steele Whiteside, Sr. Tony was educated in the Knox County School system. He graduated from Austin-East High School Class of 1975 where he excelled in playing baseball.  Tony attended Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee.

Tony is preceded in death by parents, Leo and Dorothy Whiteside; brother, Gino Whiteside; grandparents, Ernest and Bertha Mae Smith Steele, Bryson and Mattie Crawford Whiteside; aunts, Ellen Steele Johnson and Sandra Fay Steele; and uncle Glenn Steele.

Tony is survived by children, Mark Anthony “TJ” Harshaw-Whiteside and Marcus Antwon Whiteside; grandchildren, Brittani Whiteside, Milani Slay, Jeremiah Whiteside, Macara Whiteside, Chloe Harshaw; brothers, Leo Jr. (Judy), Byron Eric and Myron Scott Whiteside; uncle, Ernest ”B.B.” Steele; aunt Patience Steele, all of Knoxville, Tennessee; close friend Ricky Branner and a host of other family and friends.   

Mark Anthony "Tony" Whiteside passed away on December 24, 2025. Services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 2:00pm at Jarnigan & Son Mortuary, located at 2823 Martin Luther King Jr Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee. Rev. Steve Simpson Eulogist.
