Marion Chandler-Parkey

Marion Chandler Parkey, age 72 of Knoxville, TN transitioned to be with the great I AM “AHAYAH” and his first begotten son, “YASHAYA” Sunday morning July 28, 2024 at her home.

Marion was employed for many years at TVA until her retirement. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leeothia Parkey, father, George H. Smith Sr., brothers, David C. “Frenchie” Dula, Rev. George H. Smith Jr. 1st, and George H. Smith Jr. 2nd.

She is survived by her loving mother, Eliza S. Harris, daughter, Miracle K. Chandler, grandson, Tyler Chandler, stepson, Donald “Buckey” Parkey, Stepdaughter, Bridgette Traylor, sisters, Vada S. Reeves, Saundra K. Smith, Cynthia A. Smith, and Faye Smith; brothers, Fredrick “Chomesh” Smith Sr. and Frank E. Smith, many nieces and nephews to include special niece, Rev Dr. Latisha Reeves, and a hoist of other relatives and friends. A special thanks to the Smoky Mountain Hospice Team, the Blessed Buttercup Helping Services, and devoted cousins, Charley and Cheri.

Family will receive friends Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Jarnigan and Son Mortuary, 2823 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue Knoxville, TN 37914, from 10 to 10:30 with funeral services to follow. Interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa, TN. Final arrangements by Jarnigan and Son Mortuary.
