Lorrine Rowland

Lorrine Shumpert Rowland departed this life February 6, 2026 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lorrine was born December 14, 1927 to the union of George Washington Shumpert & Ludella Nunn.

She was a member of Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was a active member and president over the usher ministry at Mt. Zion and a member of the senior choir. She worked with the CC Fuller Circle, Monday evening study session. She worked with the youth ushers. Lorrine Rowland worked with the Guiding Light Ministry. She was a member of the District Eastern Regional, State, and National usher ministry where they traveled and she would usher everywhere they went. She participated in Spurgeon Chapel Intercessory prayer ministry. She loved her family and friends, sports, traveling, and her flowers.

Lorrine is preceded in death by her husband, John C. Rowland son, Jimmy; brothers, Fred, General, Hugh, Jack, and William; and sisters, Dean, Hattie, Lucil, Louise, Mellisa.

She leaves to cherish her memories sons, Anderson (Melody) of Savana, TN, Phillip (Zenia) of Oak Ridge, TN and Tyrone (Kamesa) of Knoxville, TN; daughters, Ruby Robinson of Oak Ridge, TN, Miranda Hill of Birmingham, AL and Virginia (Tyrone)Wells-Albert of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Jimmy Wells Jr., Eric Wells, Shana Wells, Timothy Wells, Rachel Green, Tina Howard, Kevin Green, Sheri Earp, Pricillia Mahand, Shavana Jones, Antione Wells, Tiffany Hill, Meisha Woodall, Derrick Williams, Keisha Williams, Corey Wells, Elijah Wells, Deshawn Dawson, Tavarres Jefferson, Jordan Jefferson, Dedrick Olive and Kendra Well, a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Family will receive friends Sunday February 15, 2026 from 2:30 to 3:30 , at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 195 Wilberforce Avenue Oak Ridge, TN 37830, with funeral services to follow. Interment at Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens.
