Lexine Miller, age 69, of Knoxville, Tennessee, entered eternal life, April 7, 2023 peacefully at West Hills Health and Rehab. Lexine was born, June 23, 1953, in Alexandria, Virginia to Cornelia Petty Miller. She moved to Knoxville at a young age along with her younger siblings to live with their aunt and uncle, Charles L. and Aline Petty Stone, who became their foster parents.
Lexine was educated in the Knoxville City Schools system and graduated from Austin-East High School Class of 1971. She received an award from the Chamber of Commerce for being an outstanding senior for distributive education. Lexine was known for her beautiful smile and artistic drawing.
Lexine worked for Kroger and retired after 30 years of service.
Lexine accepted Christ early in life at Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she was very active with the youth choir. As an adult she served as a Deacon in the church and spent countless hours working with the media making cd’s for many of the members. Lexine attended other churches and later in life joined Honey Rock Victorious Church. Throughout her battle with dementia Lexine remained a faithful prayer warrior.
Lexine is preceded in death by mother, aunt and uncle; twin brother and sister, Leon and Eula Miller; nephew, DeMarcus Eugene Miller and niece, Tanesha Michelle Miller; cousins Charles and Walter Brabson and Betty Brabson Bishop, all of Knoxville.
Lexine leaves to mourn her passing, cousins, Brabson and Bishop families; friends and classmates, Judy Whiteside, Earnestine Harris and Debra Agnew; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation, 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Jarnigan & Son Mortuary Chapel, 2823 Martin Luther King Jr Avenue. Homegoing service, 1:00 p.m.
Interment, Mount Olive Cemetery.
