Laddie Eugene Stinson was born June 18, 1952 in Knoxville, TN to Jessie Kate Stinson and Bennie F. Rogers. Laddie departed this life peacefully at his residence on December 25, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.
Laddie attended Rule High School. He, later in life, obtained his GED. Laddie joined the military, were he served in the National Guard, earning an honorable discharge. Laddie loved to read, dress, and speak in front of large crowds. He always had his famous smile on his face. Laddie was very family oriented, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laddie spent his working days employed at KCDC, Levi Strauss, and Cornerstone Recovery. He received Christ at an early age. He later became a member of Open Door Church. He would often assist in leading bible study, for studying the bible was something he really enjoyed.
Laddie is preceded in death by father, Bennie F. Rogers; mother, Jessie Kate Stinson; grandparents, Jesse (Mattie) Stinson and Louise (Clarence) Miller; brothers, Calvin and Dennis Stinson; niece, Shalisa Whiteside; and nephew, Calvin Stinson Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories — daughters, Tracy Renee Johnson (Brian) of Ellenwood, GA, and LaKeitha (Markus) Jackson; son, Samuel Hamilton; grandchildren: Tramaine, Deandre, Demonte, and Jermonte, all of Knoxville; great-grandchildren: Ta’Zara, Jemarcus, Jemauri, Elijah, Jordan, Tracyn, Aubrey, Drue, Phoenyx Jade, Markus Jr., and Dejah; sisters, Francine (Andrew) King and Angela (Edwin) Parker of Knoxville; brothers, Gregory and Rodney Stinson of Knoxville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends to include, Robert Clemmons, the Rogers Family, and devoted friends, Deborah Hopewell Jackson, Robert Williams, and Vern Johnson.
Family will receive friends Friday, January 3, 2025 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Open Doors Church, 2806 Sherman St, Knoxville, TN 37921 — with services to follow. Burial will be on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 10:00am at Mt. Olive Cemetery, located at 2301-2403 Berry Rd, Knoxville, TN 37920. The family will assemble and meet at the cemetery at 9:00am.
