Kimberly D. Waters-Bailey transitioned from this Earthly garden into the arms of her Lord and Savior peacefully, surrounded by family August 6, 2025, at UT Hospital.


Kimberly Waters-Bailey, affectionately known to everyone as “Kim”, peacefully transitioned from this Earthly Garden into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, surrounded by family.


Kim was born October 1, 1959, in Knoxville, TN, to the late James K. Waters, Sr. and Helen H. Waters. She was a graduate of Austin-East High School, Class of 1976.


Kim loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age, uniting with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her death. Before Covid, she would always attend Noon Day Prayer Service, as well as Wednesday evening Prayer Service and Bible Study.


She is preceded in death by her parents, James K. Waters, Sr. and Helen H. Waters, son, Herman Bailey, Jr.; brothers, Maurice, Fredrick and James K. Waters, Jr.; grandparents, Harry and Jessie Winston and John and Janie Black; niece, Stephanie Carvin; uncles and aunts, Charles (Janie), Frankie (Frank) Winston Shell, Selma Winston Barnett, and Melvin (Carolyn) Winston.


Kim leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: devoted son, Xavier Waters; one granddaughter, Hermijah Tate; brothers, Anthony Waters of Tampa, FL, Melvin (Michele) Waters of Virginia Beach, VA, and Woodrow (Viola) Wilson of Cuba, AL; sisters-in-law, Jacqueline and Marquetta Waters; uncles and aunt, James Winston of Knoxville and William “Billy Joe” Winston of Tampa, FL, and Maxine Winston of Knoxville; nieces and nephews, devoted nephew, Jermaine Waters of Knoxville, Terrian Waters of Olney, MD, Tanisha C. (Bryan) Simons of Chesapeake, VA, Isaiah Waters of Naples, Italy, LaTrabia N. (Brian) Macklin of Houston, TX, Shantel (Trailon) Johnson of Birmingham, AL, Kimberly (Wesley) Coward of Knoxville, Steven and Juan (Andrea) Robinson of Nashville, TN, Erica Hearn, Billy Wilson, Amy Smith and Felicia Artis, all of Cuba, AL; devoted friends, Cynthia Goins and Jarrett Bush, and a host of family and friends too numerous to name.


The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 16, 2025 12:00pm to 1:00pm with services to immediately follow at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2504 Cecil Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917.
