Johnnie Mae Wade, transitioned from her earthly home, Sunday, May 13, 2023 at the
University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Born April 26, 1938 to the union of Jessie Joe and Mary Wilson in Knoxville, Tennessee at Old Knoxville General Hospital.
Educated in the Knoxville City Schools, and employed at Jim Robbins Seatbelt Company and Children’s Hospital; after retirement she became a housewife. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and loved flowers.
Preceded in death by parents, step–father, Leroy Dunn; husbands, Samuel Cole and David Wade; children, Michael Wilson, Lynette Fugate, Tommy Wilson; grandchildren, Jossie, Nicole, Kristy, Sammie; brothers, Marion and Allen Wilson.
Survivors, sons, Kenneth Wilson, Charleston, Mississippi, Samuel L. Cole Jr., Sara Tuner, Samia Cole; step-children, David (Kay) Wade Jr., Joseph Underwood, LaTosha Wade, Mellisa Hodge; a host of grands, great grands and great, great grands; sisters, Grace Steele, Mary Alice (Rosemond) Turner, Barbara Ratledge; brother, Donald Wilson; favorite cousin, Marvin Page, Greenville, SC; sister-in-law, Ruby Wilson; a host of family and friends.
Family will receive friends, 3:00-3:30 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Jarnigan’s Chapel; funeral service, 3:30 p.m.
Family will receive friends, 12:30-1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church; funeral service, 1:00 p.m., Pastor Phillip Turman, Officiating.
