JoAnn Settles

JoAnn Settles (Blue) was born June 24, 1950 in Sweetwater, TN to the late Eula Locke and Robert Upton. She passed away October 26, 2023 at University of Tennessee Medical Center.

JoAnn was formerly employed at Brakebill Nursing Home, where she took patient care seriously and loved helping other. She loved her children and loved spending time with them and her grandchildren doing puzzle books. After her illness, JoAnn spend much of her time watching old TV shows and sitting on her porch watching people. She was a peaceful woman who was known for her free spirit and colorful words. She will be missed by all that were blessed to know her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Brenda Hughley, sisters; Christine Moore and Magalene Locke, brothers; Calvin Locke, and James McSpadden, niece, Vickie McMillian, and nephew, Robert Locke.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, he devoted daughter and son-in-law, Jackie (Darren) McDuffey, loving companion, Larry Hopper, daughter, Wanda Flack, sons; Charles (Allyna) Hughley and Michael Ross, grandchildren; Darren McDuffey Jr., Shonda and Charles McGhee all of Knoxville, TN, Malik and Zakiah Hughley of Chesapeake, VA, and a host of other devoted family and friends to include, Beverly McDuffey Ward, Patricia Miles and Carolyn Wilkerson, and especially her nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.
