Gregory N. Bellamy

Gregory Neal Bellamy reunited with his parents John Lee Bellamy and Elveta Gale Mock Bellamy, and his brothers James and Phillip Bellamy on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. He was the twelfth child born to John and Elveta Bellamy on July 11, 1960 in Mountain City, TN. He graduated from Johnson County High School in 1979, where he soared in football and baseball. Gregory attended East Tennessee State University on a football scholarship. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Missouri Baptist University.

Gregory embraced Christ as an adolescent at First United Methodist Church in Mountain City, TN. He served as an Acolyte and was an active member of the Youth Fellowship and the Boy Scouts.

Gregory played semi-professional football in the Canadian Major Football League for one year. He was employed as an Elementary School Educator with Union County Schools and as a Juvenile Probation Officer with Kansas City Sheriff’s Department.

In 1987 Gregory started a 34 year professional relationship with Emmaus Homes and held the following positions: Lifeguard, Choir Director, Special Olympics Coach, Recreation Manager, and Link Community Service Coordinator.

He entered a new career environment in 2021 with Nike and Toyota as a Production Line Trainer. He truly enjoyed teaching and encouraging others to continue lifelong learning.

Gregory was an avid fisherman and true outdoorsman. He had vast knowledge and a special love for small animals and insects. His beloved Labradoodle “Miss Jade Bellamy ”was by his side for 14 years. A renaissance man, with a colossal vocabulary, Gregory had plans to return to the breath taking mountains of East Tennessee for his retirement. With the ”matchmaking ”assistance of his youngest brother, Ronald, The Lord placed Cecilia back in Gregorys life to be his “helpmate”. The two wed in holy matrimony on June 25, 2022 in Knoxville, TN, and lived in Union, MO.
