Geraldine Roberson Harris, of Knoxville, departed this life on September 23rd — the same day she entered this world only 71 years later. She was the daughter of William Sr. and Mary Hampton Roberson, raised in East Knoxville. Geraldine worked at Job Corp for over a decade, Peebles Department Store, and TVA, before retiring to spend more time with her family.
Geraldine loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren! Together they would have fun shopping, traveling, and attending Lady Vols games. She was a die-hard Lady Vols fan, and her favorite color just happened to be the team’s signature baby blue.
We’ll all miss her sassiness, strong-willed personality, and her unique way of showing love.
Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Rosa Crosby and Janie R. Carnish.
She is survived by her husband, Frank “Sonny” Harris, Jr; son, Steven (Mary) Roberson, Sr.; daughter, Stephanie Roberson; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Roberson, Jr. and Jackie Roberson, both of Knoxville, and Michael Hampton-Roberson, of San Francisco, CA; a host of other family and friends to include the Amedysis Home Health (Markeesa Stanford) who assisted with her care.
Special thanks to Nancy Hamilton and Cherie Marks for the extra special care she received.
