Evangeline M. Garner


Evangeline Marsha Garner- affectionately known as, “Sugar,” was born at Blount Memorial Hospital, November 2, 1993, to parents, Adlaide Tate and Edward William “J.J.” Garner (Deceased). She passed away, April 8, 2024.


 Evangeline was a member of Rest Haven Missionary Baptist Church, Alcoa, TN.


She attended and graduated from Alcoa High School.  She was employed by Food City- Alcoa, as a Front End Manager.


Preceded in death by grandparents, Hattie Ruth and Joseph Tate, William Edward “Jake “Garner Sr. and Mrs. Thelma Porter Garner.


She leaves to mourn her passing, devoted mother, Adlaide Tate; sister, Elixis Tate; brothers, Edward Jamar “Ed,” Garner and Eric Tate; aunts, Elder Valerie Glenn and Mrs. Francine McGhee; great aunts, Mrs. Epsie (Thomas) Jackson, Mary Muray, and Mrs. Gracie Fine; uncles, Luther and Richard Tate, Freddie McGhee, Ralph Garner Sr., Sammy Garner Sr., Jeffrey Wallace, Eddie Garner, Mark Steed; great uncle, Rev. Benjamin Manuel; devoted God Mother, Natalie Woods; devoted uncle and aunt, Jack and Peggy Young; Godchildren, Chris, Brelynn and Bryson Sarkey.  Evengeline , leaves, behind many beloved cousins, extended family and notable friends.
