Eldrick Douglas (Doug) King Sr, age 67, of Knoxville, Tennessee, departed

this life Friday, February 20, 2026.

Eldrick is preceded in death by grandparents, Anderson and Annie King; father, Walter Cowan Sr. 

He Survived by mother, Shirley Maxwell; brothers, Anthony (Tylia) Dawkins, Walter Jr, Patrick (Angie), and Kevin Cowan, Gregory (Linda) Maxwell; sisters, Tracy Brooks, Michelle Maxwell, Melissa (Eric) Ray; children: sons, Eldrick Jr, Ja’Metrick, De’Modre’, Brian, Eldrick III King; daughter, Ebony King; great-nieces and nephews: Akeem, Ajahri, Nemo, NySira, NaRaji, Baylee, Amari, Imonii, Samson, Tylee, Ro’mellow, Elijah, Amira; 13 grandchildren and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends; special and devoted cousins, Harold Lawrence Jr, Terry Latham, Kathy Ellis.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Jarnigan & Son Chapel, located at 2823 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37914 with a homegoing service to follow.
