Hallman, Dr. Evelyn Roberta – 90 years old, transitioned from this life on Monday, August 4, 2025, at NHC Fort Sanders in Knoxville, TN.  Dr. Hallman pursued her interests in Business Education.  She earned a Doctorate in Education.  Dr. Hallman inspired many students as a professor at other higher education institutions and Knoxville College in Knoxville, TN.  She held several positions that included Department Chair of Business, Dean of Education, College Provost, and President of Knoxville College.  


She was a faithful member of Fourth Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School and was her church’s representative to Church Women United.  She was awarded the honor of Valiant Woman of the Year Award by the Knoxville/Knox County local unit of Church Women United.  Dr. Hallman, was a dedicated community leader making significant contributions and has been recognized for her outstanding service.  


She was a member of the Mechanicsville Optimist Club, Mechanicsville Association where she held various offices throughout the years.  Dr. Hallman, was a member of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.  She served in a number of positions on the local, regional, and national levels.  She was recently recognized for 60 years of service and membership.  


Dr. Hallman was a lifelong advocate of literacy and literature.  She held a passion for reading and was a member and immediate past president of The Book Review Club.  Dr. Hallman was a devoted member of The Alliance of Doctoral Women.  


She leaves to mourn her death many loving family members, devoted and caring sorority sisters, church members, and friends.  Snowden Funeral Home will be in charge, 246 N. Washington St. Rockville, MD 20850. Services will be held in Maryland, and a memorial service will be in Knoxville, TN at a later date.  Condolences can be sent to Pamela Newsome at 9209 Eason St. Glenarden, MD 20706.
