Charles Elvyn Phillips, formally of Knoxville, TN, departed this life in Washington, DC at the age of 60, July 5, 2023. He was a former of Mount Olive Baptist Church.

Graduated from Austin East High School in 1981. He obtained a certificate in Industrial Maintenance and was employed technician in the D. C. areas.

Preceded in death by parents, Willie J. Knuckles and Agustus Phillips; sister, Gracie Knuckles.

Survived by, Charles Jr., Daniel Phillips and Anthony Gibson; sisters, Sandra Martin, Cheryl Hunter; brothers, Dr. Maurice Knuckles, Stephen (Vickie) Knuckles and Gregory Knuckles and many other family members and friends.

Family will receive friends, 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 17, 2023 at Jarnigan’s Chapel; Celebration of Life, 11:00 a.m., Benjamin Lewis, officiating.
