Avery LeRue Eskridge was born on October 07, 1973 in Harriman, TN. He was the oldest son born to the late Rue Eskridge Jr. and Vanda (Johnson) McAuley. He took his final flight home on June 13th 2025 in Knoxville. An outstanding athlete, LaRue graduated from Farragut High School in Knoxville, Tennessee and attended Carson Newman College on a football scholarship.
After college he was employed in the food industry. He began cooking at an early age. Everyone loved his fried potatoes and onions. LeRue is described by his friends as being kind, friendly, full of joy, and one who had a great sense of humor. He loved all kinds of music and staying connected to his friends and family by calling and keeping in touch, often waking them up early in the morning to talk!
He is preceded in death by his father, Rue Eskridge Jr.; a brother Michael Goins; and sisters, Brittney Bene’ Eskridge and Chelsey Eskridge Brown. He leaves to mourn his passing Mother, Vanda Johnson McAuley; A daughter Charley Eskridge; Sisters: Johanna Johnson, Amber (Trae) Pinnell, Melissa Blackmon, Leona Bazel, and Kristine Scarborough; Brothers: Christopher Eskridge, Rue Eskridge III, Abdula Goins, and Tony Goins; Aunts: Mae Gabriel and Mary Kilgo; Uncle Roy Eskridge; Goddaughters: Velly and Emma; And many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 10:00am - 11:00am at Jarnigan & Son Chapel, located at 2823 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, Knoxville, TN 37914, with a service to immediately follow. Interment will be at Roan Memorial Gardens, located at 1400 N. Gateway Ave, Rockwood, TN 37854 immediately following service.
