Arthur Gray Sr.

Arthur Neal "Pete" Gray Sr., born April 13, 1953, in Knoxville, Tennessee was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 after a brief illness at Fort Sanders Covenant Hospital.


A 1971 graduate of Austin-East High School, later obtained his associate's degree in Waste Water at Pellissippi (formerly Vocational/ Technical School). He was employed at TRW and Green Mountain Coffee.


Arthur was a faithful member at Lennon Seney UMC where he served as a trustee and a member of the Men's Choir. He later joined First AME Church.


Arthur also enjoyed time spent with family and friends as well as taking his granddaughter to Sunday School and to get ice cream. That was his joy. His pride and joy were those times when he would say to his son, "Let's Talk". That made him so proud.


Preceded in death; Mother, Doris Gray Coleman; Father, Gene Mitchell Gray, Sr.; Brothers, Gene Jr., Larry, Gordon Sr., and Charles; Grandparents and several family and friends to include Dorothy Cochran.


He will be missed by; ex-wife and friend (Teresa Gray); Son, Arthur (Tamar) Gray Jr.; Granddaugher, Arnaishia Gray; Sister-in-law, Vickie Devezin, Nieces, Kamesa O'Neal, Yvette Gray-Henton and Tiffany Gray; Nephews, Tramaine Moss, Johnathon, Gordon Jr. and Jacques; several family and friends to include Johnetta Johnson, Saundra Gray, Patricia Martin and Renee Rogers.


The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 1:30pm on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Jarnigan & Son Chapel with a service to immediately follow.
