Anthony Thompson

04-03-1961 to 12-01-2023

Anthony Dewayne Thompson, age 62 of Knoxville went to rest Friday 12/01/23. He was born on the Spring day of April 3, 1961 to Annette Kelso and Bobby Lee Thompson. Anthony spent most of his life in East Knoxville where he was known for his witty personality and sharp fashion. He loved to dress and be clean, he loved to party, and was a true lady’s man. He was a small package that would get on them beers and talk big smack. He worked various jobs here and there throughout his life, with Axcess Staffing Services being his most recent employment. He was a member of Faith Covenant Christian Church of Knoxville. Within the last couple of years his lifestyle had took a toll on his liver and heart. Early November this year, he was released from the hospital in heart failure with his heart working at 12%. On the faithful Friday afternoon when he went to rest, Anthony was found unresponsive and deceased at a friend's apartment in the Morningside Gardens Community. It was the first of the month and he was sharp, he had a pocket full of money, and looked like he just laid his head for a nap.

He was preceded in death by both parents, sister Sandra Kelso, uncles Marshall, Herbert, Henry "Bud", and Robert "Mighty Fine" Kelso, aunts Edith “Honey”, Mary, and Katherine, cousins Brooke Calloway, Robert Kelso Jr, Shirley Johnson. John Johnson Jr, Carolyn Davis, and Betsy Spaulding.

He is survived by his special friend Maxine Ruff, daughter Sarhonda Thompson, Step-Father Willie Battle, devoted nieces Tosha(Jeff) Reed and Tiaesha Kelso, nephews Chris(Shelia) and Dayshawn Kelso, close friends Pete and Bomar, several estranged paternal siblings, and a host of friends and family.
