Alyce F. Ladd-Andrews

We celebrate the life of Alyce Faye Ladd-Andrews, 75 also known to many as 

'Lady Ladd'. She passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at her home on 

February 18, 2024, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born on August 14, 1948, in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Alyce was a loving individual who adored her family. She lived a life of service and had a deep affection for people, especially children. Alyce's warm and caring nature touched the lives of many. Her infectious laugh will be missed by all.  

Alyce attended and graduated from Karns High School in 1966 where she was 

the first African-American female on the swim team and Chorus Glee Club.  She was also a Austin High Cheerleader. 

Alyce was preceded in death by her parents, William T. Ladd, Sr, and Mary Elizabeth Ladd-Brown, as well as her son, Little Roger Strickland. 

She is survived by her son, Shane Andrews, her grandchildren, Daemani Vining,Thomas Shane Andrews, Jr. and Ariah Andrews, her brother Umoja Abdul-Ahad, her niece Erika (Kenneth) Hogans, her nephews Rev. Dr. William Terry 

(Terrilyn) Ladd III, Dibo (Shayla) Ladd, Kenya Ladd and a host of great-nieces and greatnephews. Alyce was also loved and cherished by her "adopted" 

daughter, Markeisha Prater. 

Final arrangements and professional services for Alyce Faye Ladd-Andrews are entrusted to Jarnigan and Son Mortuary in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 4pm - 5pm and the service will start at 5:00pm. Services will be held at Jarnigan & Son Mortuary, located at 2823 Martin Luther King Jr Ave. Knoxville, TN 37914.
